Topic: Approach Grafting With Michael Roberts
Michael Roberts will be returning to demonstrate approach grafting on deciduous trees. Members are welcome to bring their own tree if they are planning to approach graft in January and we will be demonstrating on one of Robert’s trees.
Winter Auction
OCBS is hosting an auction to support our 2025 programming! We have had a number of quality trees donated to us over the past year that will be available at this event. Set-up at 5 pm, auction will start at 6 pm. Cash, credit, or check accepted for payment.
Repotting Fundraiser / November Club Meeting
Topic: Repotting Fundraiser
Do you have a tree in need of repotting? Our November meeting is a fundraiser where OCBS members will do it for you. Pricing details forthcoming - expect it to be first come first serve, and priced by tree size. We will have a basic soil blend available, but should be able to accommodate soil provided by you as well. We can help both with repotting back into the existing container or into a new container - come to our September or October meetings if you need advice on what size pot might be appropriate for your tree!
October Club Meeting
Topic: Strategies for Growing Pre-bonsai / Bonsai from Scratch
Join us for our October club meeting! The beginning of the meeting is set aside for a bring your own tree session for advice from senior club members, which will then be followed by a discussion on the development of pre-bonsai material.
OC Japan Fair
OCBS has been invited to display trees and do demonstrations at the OC Japan Fair - details will be forthcoming. Please come to our September meeting if you would like to show a tree and/or volunteer!
Arcadia Bonsai Swap Meet
Friends of the club Bonsai Swap Meet are hosting a swap meet on Sunday, October 6 at 10 am at Arcadia County Park at 405 S. Santa Anita Ave, Arcadia, CA 91006.

Join us for our September club meeting! Robert Hoogeveen will be discussing show prep in advance of club trees being shown at the OC Japan Fair. If you have a tree that you think is or could be show quality - bring it to the meeting for feedback and advice! There will also once again be time for general feedback on trees from senior members at the start of the meeting.
